i am a writer/editor in los angeles. i created this LJ to join a private LJ community. i have a day job, and i also freelance. i don't write screenplays. i am trying to write a fantasy fiction novel. i have kept a journal since age 12; i am now very much older than that. (heh.) being an online diarist is a fun yet strange experience, but, to my surprise, it hasn't kept me from continuing to write the old-fashioned way. (although my handwriting seems to be getting worse.) i have a blog that i maintain more or less regularly. it's pretty random, but mainly full of comments on culture and accounts of various things that happen in my extremely fascinating life.

i grew up in pennsylvania, but left there almost 18 years ago to live where the action (and the warm weather) is. i go back sometimes. i have four siblings, of which i am the second-youngest. my older sisters introduced me to feminism when i was in grade school. for this and many other reasons, i am eternally grateful.

i cannot hit a softball to save my life, but i really want to learn to swordfight, and maybe a martial art, too. i just don't know which one would be best.
